Okanagan or Lower Mainland Ministry Director
Amasa
is seeking to fill the position of Ministry
Director
, individuals or a couple to plan and carry out ministries to the challenged
people of BC, either in the Okanagan or the Lower Mainland (Vancouver to Hope).
Amasa
provides summer Bible camp and Bible Club programs for physically and mentally
handicapped adults in British Columbia and
is owned and operated by the Canadian Sunday School Mission. Amasa currently
ministers primarily with the mentally challenged, but we are open to expand to
the physically challenged as well. To accommodate the summer program,
Amasa rents various facilities throughout BC including some CSSM Bible
camps.
Job
Description
Duties
The director duties in this
position would include:
 |
Searching out and working
with various agencies in a given area to provide opportunities for Christian
growth for the challenged. |
 |
Planning and directing
summer Bible camps, including hiring, training, and directing a summer staff
team. |
 |
Planning and directing
fall and winter season programs such as Bible clubs, retreats, and Bible
studies. |
 |
Planning respite programs
at local churches to reach both disabled children and their families. |
The
above ministry programs reflect the various ministries that the Lord had led
various staff into over the years. Any and all of these ministries have
generally been tailored to the calling and gifts of the individual or couple who
serve.
All
CSSM staff are faith supported. They require a financial and prayer support team
to provide varying levels of financial, prayer, and spiritual support. We help
each staff by providing resources to develop such a support team.
This
director reports
to the local
Camp
Board
and
the Provincial Council of CSSM.
Qualifications
The
successful candidate must:
 |
Be
a committed Christian with a desire to live and serve the Lord in a
faith ministry setting.

 |
Must
have good
biblical foundation with some Bible
School
or
pastoral training.
|
 |
Subscribe
to the CSSM Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct.
|
 |
Be
passionate about ministry to the handicapped. Experience in this field would
be an asset but is not essential.
