Located within walking distance of the shores of Shuswap Lake just outside of Salmon Arm, Elkcanoe is adjacent to a large baseball field and Canoe Beach.

The camp is situated on two acres with paths surrounding the camp for exploring.  Adjacent to a park and swimming beach but still amid a treed area gives the feeling of camping in the country but still being close to amenities.

Each cabin room contains 16 beds for total accommodation of 64 persons plus one supervisor. The main building includes a modern state of the art kitchen, large dining, activity area and bathroom shower facilities. The entire camp is designed to accommodate challenged persons to include ramps and pathways to accommodate wheelchair activity.

Directions to Elkcanoe Camp

For areas South of Enderby, take Highway 97B heading North, turn right at lights onto Trans Canada Highway #1.    Travel 4 kms (+/-), take left hand turn onto 50th Street, NE.   Turn left onto Canoe Beach Drive .  

Camp is on the left (before parking lot for Canoe public beach) at 4390 Canoe Beach Drive .  (If traveling from the Kamloops or Sicamous direction on Hwy #1, 50th St. NE turnoff is 6 kms east of Salmon Arm).

Our camp programs have been designed to provide a great fun filled week of camp for each camper while maintaining a slower pace to accommodate the varying needs of each camper. Included in each program is the following:

Tuck time (every afternoon)

StaffCrafts with Caring Staff

Our staff have been carefully chosen and especially trained to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of each camper. Each camp has a Registered Nurse on staff for the distribution of medication and other medical care while other care giving staff have been trained to provide for the physical care that the special needs of each camper demands.

MARK ALL belongings carefully with your name to guard against loss. No electronic entertainment devices allowed at camp. 

Campers are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from Camp

Camp Registration: Camp registration begins at 2:00 PM, Monday, August 2, 2010. (Please note: this is the BC Day long weekend).

Camp Ending: Camp ends at 2:00 PM on Friday August 6, 2010

Note: A more detailed registration and assessment form will be sent to you. All registrations subject to the approval of the director.  Tuck is available every afternoon.
