Keeping the Amasa Torch Burning
Amasa is our ministry to people with special needs bringing the Word of God to people with both physical and mental challenges. Amasa began in 1983 with a week of
camp at Hope Bay Bible Camp.
Over the years it grew, being led by a team of four full time staff, with over 10 weeks of camp a summer, and year round follow up clubs.
Three years ago, the last of the full time directors had to step down, leaving no missionary to keep it going.
In those last four years of full time camps, a young lady, Jacquie Bolen, volunteered at one of the Amasa Camps under the direction of our previous directors Bob and Cheri Ayers. A wife and mother of two teenagers, Jaquie grew in her passion for the ministry of Amasa.
Then, when the Ayers had to step down from full time service, Jaquie gave up her summer holidays to organize and direct one week of Amasa Camp in the Okanagan area for two summers.
As her passion for this ministry grew, so did her sense of calling and this fall she applied for the position of Director of Amasa Ministry.
She has been accepted both by the Amasa board and our provincial council. Jacquie is already planning club programs during the winter and is eagerly looking forward to the summer of 2010, serving full time with CSSM.
Jacquie lives with her husband Kevin in Salmon Arm. Her son is married and her daughter is just finishing highschool.
We invite you to partner with Jacquie by joining her ministry support team. She needs a strong prayer team and full support to provide for her financial needs. Please contact Jacquie directly if you wish to partner with her. You can call her at
