A Brief History of Hope Bay Bible Camp

Hope Bay Bible Camp began in 1962 when a Mr. & Mrs. Menzies donated their Pender Island farm land for the express use as a Bible camp. The Canadian Sunday School Mission began developing the property, erecting a simple dining hall, a chapel and cabins.

Hope Bay Bible Camp has brought the life truths of the Bible to thousands of children over the last 40 plus years.

The last ten years has seen a major renovation or rebuidling of most of the camps buildings beginning in 1995 with the building of a new dining hall. A fire in the old dining hall was God's way of hurring along the completing of the new dining hall.

Renovation of the old rustic cabins began in 2004 transforming both them and many other buildings. The goal of total camp renovation continues with projects currently on the go. Hope Bay Bible Camp continues to be owned and operated by the Canadian Sunday School Mission, providing quality summer Bible camp to children from around the Vancouver Victoria area.

Save the cost of bringing your car. Simply park your car and come as a walk on passenger. Call us first, and we'll be at the Pender Island ferry terminal to pick you up.

Hope Bay Bible Camp is located on North Pender Island, one of the Southern Gulf Islands between Vancouver and Victoria. The ferry docks at Otter Bay on the west side. The camp is located on the east side at the end of Hope Bay at 4302 Bedwell Harbour Rd.
