Job Description: Executive Director
Glad Tidings Bible Camp
Background Information: CSSM Ministries Mission Statement: To present and promote the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, primarily to the otherwise unreached in Canada and elsewhere to the ends that the lost shall be evangelized and Christian believers be taught and strengthened in their faith.
Geographic and Demographic Profile: Glad Tidings Bible Camp is about 90Km Southwest of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan in a rural area surrounded by sparse population. The towns are very small and the farms are very large. Evangelical churches are scattered with a large distance between them. Many of these churches have fewer than 100 members. The ministry to the youth in these churches is done primarily by volunteers in the church. It is not uncommon for Christian youth to attend a school where the person’s own family members are the only other Christians in the entire school. This is a significant group of ‘otherwise unreached’ in Canada who need to be reached with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
GTBC Board Purpose: · What ends? Life Transformation. · What people? Campers, staff, volunteers, supporters, families. · What cost? Obey God
Job Responsibilities: The director, with the help of volunteer and paid staff will be asked to use whatever means available within specified limitations to accomplish institutional missional ends.
Assigned Ends:
1. Major Ends Areas:
- a. Present and Promote the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ
- b. Evangelize the Lost
- c. Disciple the Converted
2. Major Functions:
- a. Summer Camp Program
- b. Follow through children and youth to be campers, junior staff, senior staff and eventually contributing partners as they grow and mature.
- c. Ministry to children and youth in partnership with area churches.
3. Strategic Priorities:
- a. Develop and maintain infrastructure, grounds and buildings that will adequately provide for a summer camp program that is attractive to potential campers and safe for campers and staff.
- b. Assist with established ministries in local churches.
- c. Recruit campers from within and outside of the church population.
- d. Give every available child an opportunity to respond to the message of the gospel.
- e. Visit partnering churches to report on the progress of the ministry and to recruit prayer and financial partners.
Minimum Qualifications: · A passion to see life transformation. · Skills, training and experience in Church-based ministry to children and youth. · Skills, training and experience in summer camp ministry. · Must attend CSSM Candidate School. · Compliance with the Principles and Practises of the Canadian Sunday School Mission.
Other Job-related Information: Currently the GTBC director is a missionary employed by CSSM Saskatchewan and stationed at GTBC. Fundraising a percentage is expected and a salary is negotiated based on education and experience. CSSM Saskatchewan may, from time to time, exercise the right to assign tasks in addition to the regular ministry of GTBC. Interested applicants may contact:

BRANCH DIRECTOR

Qualifications and Duties:
The ideal candidate will have significant administrative experience, a person with strong relational skills, be able to interact well with the public and has an interest in ministry to and with children/youth/families. This individual must be able to work hand-in-hand with various ministry workers both in the Branch Office and at various sites (ex. camps) to, along with Council, develop the vision and strategy for furthering the mandate of ‘going to the otherwise unreached’. This is a permanent, full-time position that will be of interest to someone in a senior position in either the pastorate or with a Christian organization and is able to subscribe to the CSSM statement of faith and policies.
Remuneration:
Annual Salary – To be negotiated.
The successful candidate will be appointed by the CSSM Ministries’ National Director upon recommendation by the Saskatchewan Branch Council of CSSM (Canadian Sunday School Mission) Ministries.
